Sensors of everything: The invisible driver of the information age

An average smartphone can contain more than twenty inexpensive sensors. With the wide adoption of mobile computing platforms, such as smartphones, low-cost sensors have enabled unprecedented insights into how we live and interact with the world around us. As the cost to make these sensors reduces to almost nothing, they will appear in places we never imagined possible. Dr Firat Guder will share advances in new low-cost sensor technologies and explain how these might fuel a new data-driven revolution in health, sustainability, and productivity.
